Amusement and a beta request.

I watched Brooklyn Nine Nine’s first episode last night. I laughed quite a bit – I liked how it did seem rooted in what might go on in a police department and the smart-alecyness. And even if a character didn’t make me laugh or chuckle, they engendered some goodwill. To put this in context, I've been rewatching season 2 of Arrested Development (and random bits of The Big Bang Theory, because it is often on E4) recently.

Also, does anyone remember Lawless? The film from 2012 that features Tom Hardy and Jessica Chastain (plus Shia LaBoeuf, Mia Wasikowska, Guy Pearce and less Gary Oldman than the trailer promised)? Very violent, set in the prohibition era. Anyone want to beta read a Maggie/Forrest fic? It’s just over 1,000 words long and references some of the grimmer stuff that happened in canon. I suppose it’s similar in style to my Top of the Lake ficlet, although it predates it.
