I definitely agree, it makes him a lot more worn down and ruder than he'd normally be (Sam might be a sexist, but he's not typically a rude sexist).

It's obviously a combination of things, having to interact so much with Lisa right now, when he's stressed and disappointed and she presses on so many of his sore spots. But I agree that there must have been some of this in his past behavious around her, and I found the way you dug into his buying into the lifestyle a little more than he can stomach now, as well as the risk not entirely coming off like he'd hoped insightful.

Who knew I had so many Sam/Lisa thoughts??

Hee” But who they get engaged to usyally says a lot about a person, so it does add layers to Sam.

It is odd that this particular group of medical friends seemed to be unrelated to her own specialty.

Yes, if it was a mix of specialties or if…I dunno we were told there was a special reason for inviting them, although that would have gone down better if Abbey had been there. I kind of bought the 'curing cancer' as the kind of thing that would go over well in the speech, so I thought it had more than metaphoric value, but it too clearly was a last-minute addition etc.
