I wasn't as struck with this episode as I normally am, although I agree with you about all the pairings. Fanny's ability with maths did seem strange - and I'd never taken her to be Stephanie. And like you I didn't think the 'be nice' message flowed as naturally as previous Christmas ideas have, so while I enjoyed the different elements I was slightly disappointed overall.
