Oh! This was lovely. You linked it for me in your response in 3SF, and I finally found some time to come over here and read it. Lack of beta aside, I think it was beautiful. I love that the Mutant tried so hard for the first date, but is so used to Mahoney and the shop that he barely blinks at her suggestion of lack of structure.
