I've rewatched the first couple of episodes of season 5 and there was...a shift, so I suppose I'm a bit sensitive, verging on the aprehensive. Having said that, I'm certainly lookin forward to revisiting the election arc and to rewatch it post Obama. I never remember The West Wing becoming terrible, but it's competing with its past glories. What you say about the female characters' plotlines is a big plus.
