Cairo Time
Fidelity: osprey_archer (post-movie Juliette/Tareq)
This is restrained, yet powerful and in keeping with the mood of the film. I love the slow, subtle reveals of what did and didn't happen since they last met.
The Graceling Realm series
Missing You is a Slow Burn: Bustle (Fire/Brigan, epistolary and journal fic, spoilers for ‘Fire’)
This is gorgeous - the support and understanding they give each other shines through, and Fire’s journal supplements the letters well.
The Lord of the Rings/The Silmarillion
Spring, Summer, and Fading: klose (long, Elrond/Celebrían teen)
Entertaining and moving story of their first meeting, with a lovely coda.
The Martian
Mindy: Oakstone 370 (gen, Mindy, Beck, Mark)
Mindy gets the appreciation she deserves!
Original fic
Local Customs: Jenett (OFC/OMC, geese, long)
One of this fic’s tags is ‘Goose that chases you toward your soulmate’, okay. And it’s lovely, but with just enough darker shadings. I thought the characterisation (including of the geese) and worldbuilding excellent, and how Imogen's confidence about cultural exchanges only took her so far worked well.
