Fic: Two further fills for ThreeSentenceFicathon2025
One Persuasion (2007) ficlet and one original ficlet.
For the First Time, Persuasion (2007), Anne/Frederick. Written for the threesentenceficathon prompt ‘Any, Any, Leaving home for the first time.’ 75 words
Everything around Anne is familiar, Kellynch Hall behind her, the grounds before her, a carriage awaiting to transport her. But it is her husband who gives her his hand so she can step up, and they are leaving on their first visit as man and wife from their new home. ‘Home’ is the right word, for in the short time since they took possession of it, Frederick has made Kellynch Hall home for Anne again.

She had learned to dance, of course, along with her cousins, but with nothing like the enthusiasm she approached horse-riding. Everyone had assured her that she would enjoy her come-out, but she regarded it as a fate one must accept as she had her courses, and found balls rather a poor trade for a morning ride. But he laughed when she admitted this to him; at first she only prized their dances as a chance to talk about their mounts, riding conditions and routes, but they did not always converse, and yet she found herself equally content, and even, in a way that would have puzzled her younger self, fond of dancing.
