For some reason, ITV2 didn't air the next episode of Scorpion in the usual slot, but rather a different show altogether. I don't know why and now that I’m online, I can’t see when they are planning on airing it next either. Grr.

Cultural afternoons and throwing stuff

I've read a few The Huntsman: Winter's War reviews that were a bit more positive than mine, but from people who liked Snow White and the Huntsman less than I did. I agree the film had faults and wouldn't argue that it was 'murky' but I was invested in KStew's Snow.

ITV2 took this opportunity to go back in time and air 2.15 Da Bomb (which they hadn’t shown when it was due to air), which I’d read the recap of and seen clips of, which lessened its impact and was a step back in time in terms of a few developments. ( Read more... )

I write, others bake cakes...

I posted a ficlet the other day A time and a place, Agents of SHIELD, Melinda May/Phil Coulson, PG. I was relieved to find I could still write something after a while of staring at prompts and blanking. When responding to feedback, I've felt obliged to say that the scenario wasn't my idea - I just expanded on it. Do other people feel like that when you're working off someone else's idea?

I’ve never got a SHIELD icon. Part of the reason is that my feelings for characters have varied such a lot – except maybe May, but I think other fans love her more fiercely than I do. What I would love is some sort of group or four quarters one of the ladies: Skye, Melinda, Jemma and Bobbi.

IN OTHER NEWS: The rest of Parks and Rec is going to be shown in the UK on Dave, which is not the most obvious fit to me, but it they air it at a reasonable hour, that will be fine. Home Fires has been recommissioned, which I’m pleased about, and I think I will try to watch Humans.

Home Fires episode 1

I decided to give this a try then. It's ITV’s latest drama in the period drama slot recently vacated by Poldark and Downton Abbey’s slot in point of fact (Samantha ‘Rosamund’ Bond is in it). Starting on the eve of World War 2, it focuses on the Women’s Institute of the village of Great Paxton.
