Well, well, well...

Parks and Rec

6.3
Pawnee vs. Eagleton (but maybe Leslie ought to be more worried about Bloomington, because my main response to Ann’s final question was that it didn’t matter what Chris thought, Leslie was going to hate the idea.)

Veronica Mars herself (okay, there was just the one glance that was VMarsesque, otherwise KBell did privileged folly beautifully while providing a foil for Leslie) represented Eagleton. I wish I had more PowerPoint starting ‘Well, well, well’ in my life. Of course, Eagleton is Leslie’s big red button, so she was even more extreme than usual, and while she had a point about Ben (so geekily adorable over auditing) lying to her, the whole ‘tacitly agreeing’ was a step too far. But merging the two town/cities should be fun to watch.

Watching Ron try to go offgrid with the help of the most switched on of the Parks and Rec gang was hilarious. The moment where he Vined himself was nightmarish – for him. And yeah, he’s consistently the funniest. I loved how Diane handled him – that she’s used to going to hide in a mountain being his solution to everything!

And then Ann got to practice her mothering skills on April. Hopefully they’ll stand her in good stead when her unborn child is a teenager. I thought they let April off the hook for not wanting to go there. It seemed to me that she just freaked out at all the chirpiness. Extrinsically, I suppose they don’t want to lose the character and she isn’t important enough or going to vet school isn’t political enough to justify following April there.

Nice follow-up, because Ann tried t tell Leslie in the kindest way possible (waffles! Genius) but of course Leslie went off on one and it tied in nicely with dealing with the Eagletonian equivalents in the office. Really inventive ones too, except for Evelyn who seemed quite sane. I also loved the contrast with Ben’ s reaction to Chris’s news. And apparently I have less to say about this episode – I laughed outright much less. Ann and Chris moving away to another state to her family and a healthier lifestyle makes more sense.
