Parks and Rec 6.19 Flu Season 2

This was firing on all cylinders! Leslie, Andy and Larry threatened by the flu (which, oddly, didn’t seem to bother anyone else) and Leslie wanting to soldier through, and then the whole ‘or maybe it’s pregnancy’ thing, where Andy would be unobservant enough to miss the signs. Also, Chip’s song was a hilarious send-up of a certain type of country music, and of course he turned out to be a monster (he reminded me a little of Jean-Ralphio).

Everyone else went wine-tasting, and the various wine summaries (oh April) combined were funny.

And Ron (Offerman was directing) had to hang out with an increasingly strung-out and then drunk Ben. Heh. What could improve on that? The other Ron, p’raps? The spirit animal – baby snow owl seems so perfect – and the cheque burning, not to mention the air-cleaning ‘Carma’ amused me very much.

I loved how Tom pretty much nailed the reason why Craig would be terrible at customer service, but they found a way through.

They’ve used the joke of Andy getting something wrong but giving off signs of great wisdom before, but Pratt still sells it.

So, Leslie really is pregnant!?

And all the while, Larry was left stuck in that quarantine tent, no?

Having Sapperstein deal with LeslienBen was reason enough to go for this plotline.

Heh to Leslie seeing everything as a competition. But triplets? And those two needing to be calm?

(I am in a state of mild shocked disbelief that the couple are expecting because I hadn’t been spoiled for this, basically. And that’s the third pregnancy now, which makes sense given where the couples are at and what you can do with them, and triplets are certainly an escalation.)

Meanwhile Andy, with Johnny Karate appointments written on his stomach, was all twisted up in knots about keeping the pregnancy secret. He even got April to be nice to Larry.

Speaking of nice, is that the problem with Donna’s ex? IS IT? (Apparently so. Huh.)

While I didn’t quite believe totally zen Leslie, while only Ben was spinning out, it was funny. Donna was right about Ron’s character growth and Larry’s wedding ring story was gross, but the office finding out was sweet and I liked Craig’s ‘Congratulations, I suppose’ kiss-off.
