I missed Deeks! I was fairly sure that Kensi did, given that Grainger was messing with her head, and would forgive Deeks for letting her down on the carpool front (not the first time) and welcome him with open arms when he returned, until the conversation between Hetty and Grainger tipped us off that there was cause to be concerned about what Deeks was up to, which hopefully they will explain soon.
Otherwise, this was a pretty enjoyable episode. I thought the opening tag was one of the better ones. I liked the way they shot the event and the armed robbery, and although costumed gunmen has been done before, it works well.
We then had a lot of banter, with Sam and Eric revealing some fears, none of which were unreasonable. Indeed, Eric overshared a lot as Eric/Nell had to pick up the slack with the lack of Kensi/Deeks. The obliviousness in response to ‘young geek love’ was a bit much.
I was more amused than anything about Hetty’s DIRE THREATS of economic collapse (giving up Hawaii! No wages for Kensi) if they didn’t recover the real gold!!) but I’m not American. LL Cool J outacted Chris O’Donnell (as per usual), and apart from foot-in-mouthitis, Kensi shouldn’t worry about her performance reviews.
I've also posted a couple of ficlets: ce matin, ce soir, hier soir The Musketeers (BBC), Teen, Aramis/Anne. Written for the prompt ‘The Musketeers (BBC), Aramis + any woman, Consent’; and An unexpected fit Fairy Tales (Cinderella), Universal. King, Queen, Cinderella, Prince. Cinderella/Prince. Written for the prompt ‘Fairy Tales, Cinderella/Prince, King & Queen POV - "This is the girl who fits the slipper!"’
I forgot to mention that both were prompts from
comment_fic. They were both drafted in the week when the prompts appeared and subsequently edited. Form is important in both, the non-linear structure of the The Musketeers fic and the alternating POV in the Cinderella ficlet. The latter is set in a conglomeration of various versions of the fairy tale as opposed to one. I am thinking about posting the WIP meme, but I don't want to jinx the writing that is currently going on.
