Nashville and The Mentalist

Nashville 1.04

Dear Avery, Don’t make Summer look like that.

Dear Deacon, I hope you congratulated Summer.

Dear Show, So I care for Summer (and Gunnar) the mostest.

I am appreciating the fact that everyone is given shading, they come off as human and they make bad, but dramatic, decisions. I would have liked more singing and Rayna’s actual response to the Juliette stealing video WRT her daughters. I mean, you can imagine what it would be, but it would have brought to life the issue that her Juliette’s main audience is supposedly tween girls and what parents would do with a shoplifter role model (although they seemed to be fine with someone who was positioning herself as a writhing, pouting sex object.)

Dear Juliette, So many notes. At the very least, she needed a more forthright PR handler.

Woah, Teddy, you idiot. I saw what they did there, dressing Peggy in black and Rayna in white.

The Mentalist 5.11 Days of Wine and Roses

Yay! to Lisbon having her own subplot, in which she shows her determination to get justice done, although is it really something new? I mean, Lisbon is plucky, threatening her doesn’t make a difference. I was disappointed, but not surprised by Amy Aquino’s judge, but more optimistic about seeing more of the other judge. I refuse to get too excited about Jane’s take on it or on him saying he wants her to be in love and happy. I refuse to care whether the show is trying to put off shippers or assuming we’ll read it as a double bluff. More fun was Cho and then Lisbon going along with Jane the kleptomaniac and, despite all his cynicism about therapists, some truth about his father getting out.

How much trouble could Jane get into, Cho? Well, the same amount as he can get into anywhere. I was noticing the decoration of the retreat, which says as much about the main plot as you need to know.

Of course, he’s going to get involved in Lisbon’s case and all, and it may tie into the central question of what Lisbon will do when Jane faces Res John, if there is anyone watching left who still cares about that, but really, what I’m thinking, as I thought the first time it all started, was that it’s a good way to bring back Mashburn.

The show cut off halfway through the last scene for me. I then chose to watch some more LBD over Person of Interest. I will tidy up and post my thoughts eventually. Suffice it to say, I've seen episode 60.

Fandom March madness has started. When I voted, the women seemed to be doing well (yay!).
