Parks and Rec 2.11 Tom’s Divorce

The one with the fourth floor (LOVED THAT) and the dino-themed restaurant and more of how Andy sees the world – I sort of love that he’s the one influenced by romcoms into stalky behaviour – and Tom getting divorced. Leslie making Ron carry him home and her attack on Wendy was fun.

2.12 Christmas Scandal

I had far few (untyped) buts about this episode. That is to say, I enjoyed it more thoroughly. For one thing, we actually saw that Leslie does more than crazy stuff at work, and the rest of the department realised it too. The spiralling scandal and she way that jerk (the Councilman) didn’t know her at all was ludicrously brilliant. Also, in the middle of all that, LOTS of touching moments, from April’s shy looks to camera (!), Dave’s feelings for Leslie, Ann and Leslie’s friendship and Brandanowitz not listening to Tom and going ahead and giving Ann the awesome gift, which was a couply thing I approve of. (I could go on – the ending was perfect.) Funny and touching.

The Mindy Project 1.7 The Teen Patient

This week's moment of inadvertent empathy with Mindy: the teen girl reads Franzen, she reads a movie novelisation. But I know I don’t look 18. And I wouldn’t call myself a teen plus. (But I did describe the slime as so rufus.)

I enjoyed Danny’s discomfort at trying to handle Morgan (the dogs, hee!) suspected Betsey of sending the accusation and facepalmed through that convo.
Sophia was a little too inorganic and maybe the actress was a little forced, but Mindy ending up in school jail and being an inappropriate adult around the teens was funny enough.

Oh, Josh, you’re so the first steady boyfriend in the first half of season 1.
