Fanfiction recs in the following fandoms (and one original fic rec): Heist Society, Uprooted, What Maisie Knew (2012) and Willow (the film).
Heist Society
Thieves Like Us: empressearwig (Kat & family, Kat/Hale)
Loved how this takes little moments/exchanges in the books and runs with them, and I specially loved seeing Kat from others' perspectives and how her family were there for her in their different ways.
Original fic
Leap of Faith: soroga (gen. The relationship tag is ‘Kid Who Saved Fantasyland & Their Family They’re Trying to Convince to Move There’. It’s the only fic that’s used it)
This is great. Haley's POV and the family dynamic are well drawn, while the details about Phantagica are so cool and intriguing.
Uprooted
A lesson in cartography: novembersmith (Sarkan/Agnieska, missing episode, long)
Wonderful. Sarkan's POV is so well done, as is the writing about magic and their essential selves, and how the UST works in this particular situation and at this point in canon.
What Maisie Knew (2012)
Pack Up, Don’t Stray: Dira Sudis (One True Family fic, I mean, Maisie, Margo/Lincoln post movie)
The feels this fic gives! Great Maisie POV, there’s a beautiful simplicity about her priority. I flat-out loved how, even when they're mostly asleep, Margo and Lincoln are the parents Maisie deserves.
Willow
Impossible Things: russian_blue (Sorsha/Madmartigan)
Persuasive Sorsha introspection/character study. Gorgeous writing.
But he hadn’t just thrown her off her stride; he’d made her forget where her feet were.
