Recs 5/?
Sorry for not posting, I got distracted by the Olympics! But here, have some fanfiction recs from the following fandoms: Gilmore Girls, The Lord of the Rings, The Rings of Power, Spinning Silver and The Vast of Night.
Gilmore Girls
Love & Snow & War & Coffee: Ultra (Lorelai/Luke, three parts, season 1 AU)
‘Love & Snow & War & Coffee’ goes differently. Great flow and voices. Lorelai and Luke are adorable, and the UST is beautifully handled.
The Lord of the Rings
Bequests: Altariel (Faramir/Eowyn, family members)
This series of ficlets about bequests, material and not, is absolutely gorgeous.
The Rings of Power
Sailing the Sundering Seas: vands38 (Halbrand/Galadriel, 1.06, M, although honestly that’s more for the tags and author’s note than the fic itself)
Fabulous job on their love-hate dynamic, and the exact right amount of communication via the eyes.
Spinning Silver
and if you don’t love me now: middlecyclone (Irina/Mirnatius)
Smashing Irina voice, and it does smart things with the developing feelings between these two while surviving assassination attempts.
The Vast of Night
when the lights are cutting out: chahakyn (Fay/Everett)
This introduces a neat new angle and captures Fay and Everett’s dynamic, the cadence of the dialogue and the sense of the period well.
