how romantic
Saw Only Lovers Left Alive the other night. All I ought to say is that it is an indie vampire movie starting Tilda Swinton and Tom Hiddleston as lovers.
Really, that should be enough. But also it is cool, erudite, witty and many other good things.
Brooklyn Nine-Nine, fittingly (?) the Hallowe'en episode.
Again, funny and I welcome the various interactions of the regulars, although, given that by the end they were making a big deal of Jake’s cunning plan, which included brilliant timing, I did seriously doubt the order and timing of several things in the episode, like some of the scenes had been reordered or that Sarge seemed to have called Rosa’s school for her details in the middle of the night? (Also, any fule know that ballet dancers aren’t soft.)
Plus Jake was initially claiming he’d be such a great villain that nobody on the team could catch him, but he needed all their help to steal the medal? And of course he bribed them. So, point is, he didn't win.
Revenge 3.8
If I was awarding points based on how many times I said 'PLAYED,' I think it was like Emily 2 (first husband, you will marry me because I’m pregnant) Victoria 1 (Sarah and the pied-a-terre that Conrad fondly thought she didn’t know of – don’t know how that tracks, because I thought she was surprised by Lydia, so maybe she decided to get the manservant on side after that). Speaking of Lydia, well, that was a bonkers final twist - it's not like the show doesn't have form, but wasn’t Lydia really dead? Will this show end in three seasons’ time with David Clark walking out of the ocean while Victoria and Emily are trying to poison each other over tea and insincere smiles and yell ‘Surprise!?’?)
I sighed at the return of Aiden, couldn’t he have stayed in the Maldives? So I’m biased, but yeah, he’s a little bit vicious and Jack needs to be okay for Carl. Plus Charlotte is such an idiot. I laughed at her claim that Daniel is her best friend, because no.
Sarah deserves better than ‘Danny’.
