don't rely on my memory on this one

Revenge 4.6 Damage

That was surely a new moppet!Amanda. I keep forgetting that Van Camp and the actor playing David haven’t really worked together – something to keep in mind for their reunion (unless if the show decides to be meaner to Emily and have her kick herself for not telling him the truth when she had the chance...)

So, Emily has a ‘gut instinct’ that there’s more going on with David than he let on. Useful. Nolan points out that watching David’s psychiatric evaluation is a gross breach of privacy and maybe she might want to consider talking to her father instead, but enables her anyway. So far, so typical.

Someone else uses Charlotte. She whines at her kidnapper that she’s only 19 – which is old enough to get her act together, you’d think. Well, if she wasn’t going to go public about the self-defence killing, Emily is probably a good choice even if it weren’t for the David dossier (as Charlotte doesn’t know her mother and brother have cleaning up the body form). And I loved Emily for telling Charlotte to act her age and own her choices, because it was getting a bit much to see Charlotte look down at someone she had asked to help clear the body of the man she’d killed. Granted, Charlotte was a victim in this set-up, but she’d also tried to burn Emily the other week, so...

(Ha, I had forgotten how Aiden had died.)

Nice juxtaposition of Nolan and David’s quasi father-son relationship (with a lot of lies) with Louise and Victoria’s relationship (with a lot of instability) as Victoria tried to protect herself and Daniel. The jab about Daniel not being able to handle Emily was so true.

Actually good genuine drama with David holding Nolan to account for apparently letting his daughter down in that arena, and poor Nolan in that position because of all he’s done for Ems.

The contrast between Charlotte standing up to Victoria and David coming for private seconds with Nolan mostly didn’t work, although David hitting Nolan like his actual father and Nolan calling him out on that did. Because give Gabriel Mann his dues.

No, Charlotte, you’ll never be a grand dame like Victoria, and Daniel, you are most of the way there to being Conrad.

Charlotte leaving (for probably all of two episodes, if that, if David was writing her a letter) Daniel with the truth bomb of Emily’s identity is a good one.

The thing with this show is that I'm very close to being so far behind what's available on 4OD, but I can't make myself watch more than one episode a week, and seemed to have slipped into a routine of watching it on Monday, because I know it airs.
