Revenge 4.9 Intel

I am with Nolan on Emily’s torturing (Officer Ben was never going to figure out that ‘not dating’ was code for torturing).

The conversations between David and Nolan was more plot than character driven, although the fact that Nolan referred to little Amanda as ‘Emily’ really should drive home to dear old Dad that she isn’t his little girl any more. By which I mean out of control and never going to give revenge up until the show is cancelled, by which time I’ll perhaps be around to see what’s left, because I liked that they tried to make Victoria’s latest brush with death give her a slightly different perspective, just as David’s trust issues with her, indeed, their mutual trust issues emerged.

I enjoyed a lot of stuff involving Daniel, like Margiaux turning down Daniel’s grand gestures and pointing out he wasn’t listening to her. Even if he was right about her not settling for what Jack had to offer (daddy issues?), she deserves better and I’m not really rooting for them as a couple or a redeemed Daniel. (I keep remembering the murdering and the Sarah.) Plus I find ‘over it’ Daniel and Emily exchanging truths fun. I am ‘eh’ on Margiaux’s pregnancy as the latest plot twist.

They seem to be trying to pull back a little on Louise’s crazy, hopefully to keep the character around – her shade of obsessiveness is more entertaining than Ben’s.

Ha, nice twist that it was the sporty Fed lady who was working with the New Big Bad (although how does the timeline work if she was with Jack?) This all serves him right for spending no time with his son.

The Mentalist 7.7 Little Yellow House

I can tick LISBON FAMILY – the ones we haven’t met before – off my wishlist. Thank you, kindly, show.

It started with a bit of magic as Jane’s tea cup disappeared. Okay, it was bad continuity, but I watched what followed with a smile, much as Jane did – getting to see where she grew up and, yes, the mess inside. (Ha, Abbott is an older brother too.)

So it was confirmed that Lisbon isn’t a babies person or been there when things have been going okay for her brothers or kept close tabs of her youngest nieces and nephews.

Yes, Jimmy, your sister is a Fed, and she and her boyfriend work with/for a man who will front them money to join a poker game to catch a killer. That’s how they roll.

Loved watching big sis Lisbon and how Jane fit into all this – giving her the space to figure things on her own and be supportive about the messiness. Actually, it all started with him be willing to go with her to Chicago and the way that she blurted out that she really wanted him to come too. It was pretty clear from the brothers Lisbon that this is massive boyfriend-family interaction.

Of course Jane had an evil grin on his face for making her dress up as bait.

Even more fun, because it was new, was Vega and Wiley pretending to be a couple to bug the room. The fact that he’s been learning Spanish was adorable. (I don’t think you need to worry about the Jimmy Lisbons of this world, or even the Chos if you’re pulling that off.) Let’s just pretend that the same clerk wasn’t on duty for the night shift.

The best thing about the poker game was the reprise of ‘uncanny Teresa’ – she was better at it this time.

Of course we ended at the Christening barbecue – Lisbon’s dress was another credible Lisbon in a dress of her choice in an informal setting moment. Cue the moment of Jane with a kid. Subtle, not, show. But the ‘I love you’ scene was adorably played.
