Revenge/Person of Interest

Revenge 2.4 Intuition

Oops, Victoria. Clearly she didn’t mean to push Amanda/Emily, but she certainly managed to shove aside any feelings of remorse to profit from the situation. It was a little amusing as Daniel, all unknowing, walked over the newly cleaned patch where Amanda/Emily had bled. (They seriously should do an episode from the Grayson servants’ POV.) If Victoria and Conrad weren’t psychotically entwined in their own drama, they might have, you know, said something.

It’s no surprise that the thief and the victim are linked. So, even though Declan was set up, he, like me, believes he’s idiot enough to have left his ID behind. Heh.

Poor Jack!

Poor Emily/Amanda! I was wondering who’d comfort her at the end, as she got the memory back just after seeing Amanda/Emily get some of the maternal care that she’d been deprived and a pretty traumatic experience. It turned out to be Aiden (which doesn’t really make sense beyond the emotional level). Stop trying to make me care about Aiden, show. I was on Cara’s side for being paranoid enough and proving that her daughter came by her survival instincts honestly. I am willing to believe that her trying to drown wee!Amanda was down to her mental illness.

I’m still puzzled about the Initiative and their interest in these people and we still don't know much about when it all started and why. Apart from showing the Initiative lady and letting her size Conrad up, what was the point of their meeting?

Daniel tried to be stealth (and succeeded because it was Ashley) which was amusing.

So Nolan’s CFO is Up To Something – fancy that, on this show. I can’t see Nolan’s relationship with her as much more than maneuvering (look, he’s canonically bi!) And he’s only human, after being given scraps by Emily/Amanda (when yes, he wants so much more) and facing up to his estranged dad's death, so of course he’d turn to her for comfort and smoochies.

I knew Nolan had parents in the factual sense, but not even when we met his aunt did I think about them much. Of course, it adds to why he was so much in David’s corner – even the slightest bit of encourgagement from a father figure would be huge for him.

The baby is going to be called David, y/y?

I have nothing to say about Charlotte, but, again, that closing song was beautiful.

Person of Interest is back on five and I found out by accident. To recap, five stopped showing it a few months ago on a comparative cliffhanger and I was annoyed, because things were getting interesting.

Ep 11 - Super

DEFENESTRATION! Role reversal! Finch backstory! Machine backstory! Carter is brought in a little. Rear Window referencing? I wouldn’t know, as I haven’t seen it.

Pretty whispering Jim Cavaziel! Crutch-fu (you just knew that was coming, although at least they had him be a little incapacitated by being shot.)

I loved the banter and OF COURSE Carter lost the CIA in New York when she wanted to, but not Finch. I loved him both being two steps ahead and flummoxed and dismayed at having to do Reese’s work, while the flashbacks were intriguing in terms of the Machine (AI, baby!!! Yeah, I’m going to ignore all the insunations and flail thereabouts) and Ingram and Finch. Ingram is too smooth, to the point where I find him oily. (And Brent Cullen’s similarity to Chris Copper takes a while to get past.)

Oh, and I always thought Trask was telling the truth about his past life in Miami, so I was glad to be vindicated, while being amused at Finch's concern for privacy.

I really enjoyed this – far more then Revenge, where I’m mostly watching at a remove, while this is more visceral – but I feel I have far less to say about it.

I am waiting for someone to come repair my Freeview...
