A timlier post

(I know, posting twice in the same day, but this flurry won’t last.)

I watched The Masked Singer (UK version) over the weekend, and there’s certainly a lot of ‘WHAT EVEN IS THIS?’ initially, but it’s a prime time ITV weekend show, so I don’t know how long the interest will last given that formula is king and the formula involves a lot of guff, which one can predict and go off and do something else during. The most interesting bits are seeing the costumes (I could stand to learn more about how they’re designed and constructed), the VT and the singing performance when they’re entirely different from the picture you’d come up with. Plus some of the song choices have been just off-kilter enough.

Ken Jeong, bless, is limited by how little he knows about British celebrities.

I watched the first season here in the states with really low expectations and enjoyed it enough to watch the second season. Ken is the goofball judge on the American version and while he's funny, it can get a bit boring after a while when he claims on every episode that he knows who the contestants are. Though, I assume he won't be doing that as much on the UK version. :-)
