As with last year, and for the same Reasons, sadly, I watched all the songs in the Eurovision final this year and voted. Then I went to bed and found out who’d won in the morning. (I meant to post this yeserday.)

AKA Icons Week

( Dressing up. Two couples choices. )

Before that, I reposted a ficlet yesterday:

I am reassured that AO3 has it at 100 words, as did I when I counted each one out – Word said it was 99. No editing required, although I don’t love the title. It’s from spring 2007, when The OC’s fourth season (the only one I have on DVD) kept inspiring fanfiction. If it were as easy to repost all my fics as that was, I would have caught up by now.

Nick revealed on ITT Monday that he will now be getting treatment for his arm and his knee (!!) adding a whole new perspective on how badly he’d been injured.

First of all, I was saddened to hear of Maggie Smith’s passing. I don’t know when she acquired national treasure status, but she had, hadn’t she? I was aware of her growing up (although let’s be honest, more because of Sister Act than what she won awards for) and then she had this extraordinary run of being in these huge TV shows and films. I was rewatching Gosford Park recently, from which she and Julian Fellowes transferred to Downton Abbey, and then there’s Harry Potter. She always exuded such sharp intelligence as a performer. If you haven’t seen ‘Nothing Like A Dame’, it’s well worth watching, she, Judi Dench, Eileen Atkins and Joan Plowright talk about their careers and a little of everything in it.

So, this year I decided to watch Eurovision for Reasons, because that’s how I roll. I haven’t watched it since 2017. Don’t worry, I’m not going to share my take on all of it. Whatever the Netherlands act got disqualified for, I was selfishly grateful there was one fewer song. I watched it until I’d seen all the acts, voted, went to bed and found out what the results were in the morning.
