shallownessWorth recording because I have a tag for it they happen so rarely, or because I remember dreams so rarely, I had a The Mentalist dream last night. I think I knew I was watching it as a show. It started off as Lisbon-centric. A woman, possibly Kim, although Lisbon seemed to be in more of her CBI team leader role, was trying to get her to do something preposterous. Lisbon wasn’t having any of it and you knew she was going to win the argument. Her hair was shorter, but sadly, really limp. Then Jane appeared, and his hair had been shorn too. I was getting really excited to see how they’d show Lisbon and Jane together now, so this was happening after last season, but then the dream moved on and transformed into something completely different.
Obviously, I really don’t want the bad hair aspect to come true when the show returns.
Yesterday did not turn out to be a slobbing about day. That will be today, but I did catch up on The Mindy Project.
2.7 Sk8er Man
JIM ROBINSON APPEARANCE! (I am tired now of the Jeremy is fat thing, let alone the new doctor).
Picky Mindy was a bit more like it – she is both picky and deluded, but not always wrong, but then neither is Danny. I was amused that she was the one who dramatically claimed he attacked her (with words!) when she’d stabbed him with her fork. And then we got a classic bit of Mindy/Danny oneupsmanship via double dating.
2.8 You’ve Got Sext
I laughed quite a lot at the first half, partly because they deployed Mindy and Danny doing Pretending to Be Dating/Engaged and Expecting their First. Partly because Morgan and The New Doctor got so into their fake texting, even while admitting how wrong it was. Partly because watching Mindy and Danny hang out is fun, even though there’s the undercurrent of his feelings beneath the panic at him thinking she was the object of his crush. And really, Mindy admitting she’d farted multiple times would probably come across as confirmation.
I didn't find the secod half was as strong, although the fact that the boys thought that holding a board games party of randoms at Mindy’s flat was the answer to their problems was amusing/disturbing in the way things are when Morgan is involved.
Poor Danny.
Poor Mindy, as, although Cliff knows the truth about the fake texting, it was still hugely awkward. I hope they follow this up in a way that makes sense.
Um, I'm looking forward to seeing the next episode live. This is new for season 2.
