I laughed quite a lot at this, and probably the pratfalling was a big part of that. But the B-plot integrated the new doctor with the whole team fairly well and made the tedious fat!Jeremy thing more understandable. I don’t even know what the two women were, that is I do know, and I didn’t like it, plus the altar boy joke was a clunker. But even if the ‘Ease off with the body hatred, ladies' message was heavy-handed, Mindy/Danny still gets to me and his way of getting her to train was funny. A few developments/jokes didn’t go where I expected them to go. My brain had stopped at the disaster of Mindy skiing, way before her hot tub angst. And hadn’t she injured herself enough to not go skiing?
Meanwhile, on the Emmys, yay for Julianna Margulies (although Tatiana Maslany should have been nominated!). I feel miffed on Josh Charles's part - I obviously didn't see all the other actors and have zero desire to watch Breaking Bad however good it is - because I thought he was genuinely outstanding in the season that's gone of The Good Wife.
I'm also pleased about the Sherlock wins - 3.03 was the best episode of the last series. I've been on a bit of a Sherlock kick recently. Specifically, Sherlock/Molly (Sherlolly is one of the stupider portmanteau names as it makes me think of lollipops.) It's strange, in that I'm not sure that I actually want it to happen in canon, but if fic writers want to convince me that it would be a good step for both characters, I'll happily buy into it. The more I read, the more it'll bleed into my attitude when watching the show (three episodes and a Christmas special!) Also, I shold note that me being me, with the time I take to get around to reading fic, I'm reading fic produced between season 2 and 3.
