Revenge 4.22 Plea

Possibly a mistake to have such obviously straightened hair for an Emily in an orange jumpsuit.

Louise and Victoria’s other late season 4 daughter figure are reminded of Victoria’s ACTUAL daughter. Heh.

At the courthouse, Ben was on one side and Nolan, Jack and David on the other. A bit of a shame that there was no history with the lawyer or judge. Hmm, wonder if Stevie was not impressed about Jack staying.

Ben had some justification for volunteering to tell Ems not to try to break her house arrest...and of course she got Nolan to help her do just that, even though it was a bad idea, because that’s how they roll.

A simple Amanda/Jack scene, ‘five minutes or four years too late’, trusting to the old chemistry (and VanCamp’s intense whispering). I saw enough of the ghosts of wee!Amanda and Jack to make me happy before Nolan was the worst no. 1 shipper imaginable. And Jack’s smile was like the sun breaking out. I shipped it more when I thought it might be endgame than when it clearly did become endgame. I ship it a little more now that Amanda has faced some of her issues and decided she wants it too.

Charlotte returned to make an excellent point that Victoria has ‘died’ and disappeared before and to trample all over Louise’s mother-daughter fantasies. (Yes, you were overstepping.) Charlotte claiming to be healthy suggests she wasn’t the one in the hoodie, but she hasn’t reached out to David or Amanda. Can we all forget about her again now?

Heh, David laying down the paternal law worked about as well as the judge and officer Ben laying down the law law. And although it was fun to see David’s face fall as he was busted, Ben should basically have sat outside the Clarkes, because he knew Emily was going to try to escape.

Meanwhile, Jack applied some detecting skills too. Margiaux has given me whiplash of late. The state if her soul has been thrown under the bus of keeping the character on the show and using her as a part of the plot machinations. It might be satisfying if Emily told her that, really and truly, it was Conrad who killed her father by helicopter.

Was the big escape worth it, Ems? Couldn’t the others have found that out? Also, you left fingerprints, which may be a moot point, but is still...sloppy, undercutting all the praise you were getting from Jack and Ben.

Whereas I was amused to note that Nolan did wear gloves for his attempted break-in, and had a fairly entertaining encounter with Louise, who looked great, even while she was playing the patsy.

Not nice to see David brought low in front of his Amanda, although him claiming it’s impossible that Victoria is actually alive was lacking a ‘seriously’ face from Emily.

Emily getting her ‘five minutes’ with Margiaux was much more like her.

Well, that was a fancy detectives’ office for the one scene.

Oh, but I like Louise! Don’t have one of your lackeys kill her, Margiaux!

And DAVID. Since their reunion, he’s always been part of Amanda’s HEA as far as I was concerned.

I was so worried about them (relatively speaking) that Officer Ben getting offed is neither here nor there, although, looking back, that’s why he got so much to do in this episode. I did like the echoes in his behaviour to Emily’s at the trailer, and it does put Emily back a fair bit.

ONE EPISODE TO GO. Of course, the picture on the 4OD website is extremely spoilery.
