Parks and Rec

I’ve been breakfasting at Pawnee this morning and yesterday.
4.11 The Comeback Kid
I accidentally watched these two episodes in the wrong order (let’s blame the fact I hadn’t taken in enough caffeine), so I keow who Leslie’s campaign manager really would be.
Although the point of the episode was that Leslie’s campaign team (sans Donna and Ben) were a bunch of idiots, I felt there was a real demarcation when Ron took Andy, April and Tom in the lorry. Those three are the kids – he wouldn’t treat anyone else quite like that.
I liked the red carpet in a shoe, and the choice of ‘Get on your feet’ was inspired for the ice rink location.
(I thought faffing about was British slang!?)
4.12 Campaign Ad
I knew Paul Rudd was going to appear at some point in Parks and Rec and lo, here he was, playing a vacuous, entitled manboy going up against Leslie.
The ailments of Andy and his and April’s cluelessness plus that not-bothered doctor were a nice mix, but Ron enjoying chopping all the budgets while ‘nice’ Chris couldn’t face telling people about his ‘nasty’ decisions (but where WILL the water go?) was better – all this is the closest to political satire the show’s come to, no? Having said that, I probably laughed out loud more at the other episode.
I love the idea that Pawnee will still make Ben pull ‘WHUH?’ faces when he is an octogenarian.
With Adam Scott’s voice being a bit hoarse, I would have had Tom do the voice-overs.
I’m so glad that we got to see Leslie’s 10 year old self’s campaign video.
