Running late, but

Nashville 3.20 Time Changes Things
The ‘previously’ rather gave away what stuff from many moons ago was going to return. Rayna turning to Beverlea was the juiciest, although Kiley brings the drama like a tiny tornado (the show is not subtle example 5,002: the second Gunnar uttered ‘there isn’t a thing you could say...’ I presumed Jason had raped her).
Teddy clearly didn’t have the begging conversation for Daphne to stay over with Rayna, if Deacon was responsible for the girls in her absence (what happened to their never seen nanny, anyway?)
The show could have given us scenes of Maddie and Colt together recently instead of just adult fall-out. Also, Colt, ‘she didn’t even want to do it’ was so bad coming out of your mouth at that point.
Lesser Diva (compared with Juliette) Layla used a good tactic to get Quite Human Jeff to yield to getting her a stylist with the dragging him shopping.
I was surprised that Luke’s thing with Jade lasted so long – a one-night stand/boost for his ego, yeah, but something more? And it’s not like Rayna dumping him wasn’t headline news.
We had a flashback featuring Deacon without bad wigs! That just seemed wrong, so I was glad that Rayna rectified that. It must have been deliberate for Deacon and Beverlea not to gel vocally – especially compared with Gunnar and Scarlett. Yes, that’s my main take-out from the big Deacon and Rayna first set eyes on each other moment.
It was about time for Juliette to find out about Deacon, but her chat with Maddie was rather solipsistic. (I feel a little uncertain talking about how they’re handling Juliette’s post-natal issues now that the actress has publicly said she’s sought professional help for PND.)
I was amused by grumpy Jeff at the party, sharing his out-of-placeness with Luke, of all people. More Brand Not!Christina Aguilera using Layla flickering through.
The show very adroitly showed us Daphne and Maddie caring more about making pizza together than their very expensive necklaces. UNSPOILED! I was disappointed that Teddy isn't going (yet), because the shady city politicking is so not the thing that makes the show tick.
And Kiley’s story went about where you could expect. All Gunnar’s ideals about Jason are pretty much smashed now, right!? But of course he handled Scarlett terribly, because they’ve both got the shortest fuse where the other’s concerned. There was surely a way of calmly saying that things had changed while protecting Kiley’s secret. I think Scarlett was right about his maturity (having Kiley phone Micah without any build up wasn’t the best idea) based on what she knows, but she is still using Caleb. Poor hot doctor.
Beverlea’s view of the world is very skewed (although the actress’s singing voice is better than Rayna’s and she sounded a lot like Scarlett when she did her solo.) Aww, poor, frayed, desperate Rayna. I liked that the very loving phone conversation with Decaon was dangled in front of her as something she was only going to get so briefly.
Bucky really should have listened more to Glenn’s war stories over the years about dealing with Juliette. And yet another Highway Sixtywhatever artist pulls a stunt to jumpstart a career with no plan to follow it up.
Oh, Layla, stop reverting to seeking validation through fame and trying to be the cynical player. You’re suddenly making Jeff the sympathetic one. Fortunately, by tweeting that photo (justifying it as for her own good), he reverted to type, too, and thus ended me getting sucked into thinking they had something.
All the songs were really on the nose, and Jade had yet another hair colour in.
