I did watch Sherlock last night, and I need to type my reaction to that, I know, but there are a few other shows I watched before that that I want to post about. First, Brooklyn Nine-Nine is back on British scenes - such a good call to have it start in the new year when you're just in the mood.
4.1 and 4.2
I found the first episode funnier overall, but I was glad the show returned to what was going on with the rest of the gang in the precinct for the second episode.
On a serious note, the Presidential election result and how certain states voted have added a different perspective to Larry and Gary’s adventures in Florida.
But anyway, that frosted blonde thing on top of Jake’s head and Holt’s attempts to be heterosexual were consistently funny. Their fish out of water in strangely coloured water routine worked. The go-kart stuff was laugh-out-loud funny. And JIM O’HEIR turned up to be the guest star I was most excited about.
And then there was yet another terrible replacement captain for the precinct. I was amused that the first shot of Santiago was a tease to the stuff they did to hide the actress’s pregnancy last season and then she was back to normal. Oh, Amy, you trier, faithful to Holt, and then the ‘successful’ guilting of the rest of the gang sabotaged The Rescue. <3 Amy Santiago.
The character beats and interactions were as sharp as tacks and odd and funny. Glad it’s back. I hope nothing else is put in the same slot so I can keep watching it live.
