Yes, Charotte has distanced herself from Forehead thanks to Clara, Georgiana has shut him down because she has sense, and because Clara seems less imprtant to Charlotte now that she has a new buddy, they're a bit of a sideshow.
I'd rather pair Charlotte with the foreman instead of Sydney.
That's what fanfic (of fanfic) is for! I doubt the show is going to go there much, unless if there's another ball where Charlotte can make good on her willingness to dance with anyone.
