It's reassuring to hear! I wasn't paying enough attention when the show aired to remember fan reaction clearly, leaving me wondering 'Am I alone in thinking this now that I’m watching it all these years later?’ It’s grown clear that if the writers had a plan for the first season and maybe thought in seasonal arcs, they really hadn’t thought things through far enough to pull off what they’re trying to. And I know it’s a fine balance, you need to respond to what you’re getting on screen – certain actors sparking, certain performers or other creatives suggesting new directions – and you can’t know for sure ow many episodes or seasons you’ll get to tell the story, but you can’t fly by the seat of your pants when you’re dangling a big plan over the viewers.

And I hadn’t really considered what it must have been like for the actors getting the script, especially those who have been working on a character for three years, and seeing some of the issues I'm seeing, but with the added investment of having performed all that had come before.
