After ranting, comedy

Parks and Rec
2.7 Greg Pikitis
Thumbs up as Halloween made Leslie and Ann go crazy in different ways. I wrongly (and unjustifiably) thought it was Tom who’d TP’d the office until the Fake Mom revelation. Heh. Also, WHAT?
Finding out more about Ann’s colleagues (dull, overprotective and wrong on Andy) was a nice in-universe insight into why she has adopted the parks department.
I still think Tom might try being a decent human being a bit more if he wants to keep his Greencard!Wife, especially when she seems partial to Ron Swanson’s Lower Register.
2.8 Ron and Tammy
The Library department as the ultimate embodiment of evil in the Parks and Rec department’s mind = GENIUS. It’s not even really outdoorsy people versus stay inside readers. It’s just bureaucratic jockeying run rampant. Sideways.
The post-it note ‘I told ya so!’ was a total Chekhov’s gun.
Maybe Ron and Tammy’s relationship had been a wee bit overhyped and I needed to discover it for myself more?
Still, lots of chortling.
The Mindy Project
1.5 Danny Castellano is my Gynaecologist
So, there’s this Spike and Lynda quote that sums up my FEELINGS about Mindy and Danny:
Lynda: You and me Spike, we're held together by a force even stronger than true love.
Spike: Which is?
Lynda: We both want the last word.
I saw the premise because I was watching it on 4OD and I was like ‘oh no’...but that was quite the ‘Anything you can do, I can do better’ fight.
Also, there should be a Mindy/Danny vid to that song.
And of course Mindy won the fight. Lamp, indeed. Knew he was in trouble when he started there.
I really like the way the jokes are set up – everyone, but especially Mindy’s faults (narcissism) are sent up bee-yootifully, because they never go so far that you hate on anyone. I am glad to be vindicated about the secretaries (plus Morgan) being good value. And there were tossed-off lines like 'on a woman's pay' and Mindy being Betsey's best friend. (And I don't yet know how I feel about Jeremy/Betsey)...
