Fic recs in the following fandoms: Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Dawson's Creek, The Decoy Bride (film), The Lord of the Rings (books) and What Maisie Knew (film.)
Brooklyn Nine-Nine
ever thought of calling when you’ve had a few (cause I always do): birdbox (1.19 episode tag, ficlet, Jake/Amy)
Hits a real sweet spot. Jake is so transparent that he sees through himself. It's ridiculous and heartfelt too.
Dawson’s Creek
Still early in the morning: sandyk (Pacey/Joey, season 1 AU, teen, long)
Persuasively adds a trope and a 2016 perspective to season 1, and there’s darkness and some good old Joey/Pacey honesty and understanding amid all their snark. (Bonus points for making me glad Joey had Bessie.)
The Decoy Bride (film)
Waiting for a Whale: caedmaeg (William, the laird-centric, unrequited William/Katie)
Sympathetically rounds out the laird’s character, adds credible backstory and does all this with a fine, light touch. (A few Britpicking issues.)
The Lord of the Rings
Love Among the Ruins: Altariel (Eowyn/Faramir)
Lovely, lovely writing, and I loved the sense of progression in these linked ficlets.
What Maisie Knew (film)
Bad Day: dira sudis (Lincoln, Margo, Maisie (Lincoln/Margo) teen)
This fic gave me all the feels. Especially One True Family feels. Great job on Lincoln's perspective of all the stresses and emotions of navigating this tough situation. It felt very real.
