I rewatched the previous two episodes of Sanditon (2.4 and 2.5) for ‘research/clarity’. Eh, because I wanted to.
On the servant front, since I keep raisiing it, there were more Colbourne servants around in 2.4, such as the maid who did up Augusta’s laces and the coachman/groom who happened to be ready and waiting for Colbourne to storm out of the garden party. And the ball, presumably.
Will the Lambe relative who objected to Georgiana turn up at Sanditon to cause bother? (I’ve been spoiled about a certain character who I hoped would return not returning because I was checking imdb for character names.)
It was Augusta who introduced the idea of Colbourne never changing (after referencing him taking her to the garden party, which was proof he was changing.)
Charlotte tried givng her own ultimatum to Colbourne of wondering what was the point of her job if Augusta would never go to the ball. He didn’t bite then, but did go further than I recorded when they danced, including himself with the girls as being ‘bereft’ if she walked out on them (him).
The Artist’s proposal really struck me as being impromptu - this whole business of leaving for the Continent ‘tomorrow’ is sheer ‘because that’s the end of this series’. His throwing his jacket away to dance with Georgiana was obnoxious. But two more proposals this episode, one getting refused, one left hanging. Forehead’s to Clara has so far been the only successful one, and even she ought to be regretting it by now.
Oh, and Captain Carter did not like watching Alison and Fraser enjoying themselves dancing together, while the Colonel probably has more reacting to do, if he’s even accepted that Charlotte really was turning him down.
