Fic recs in the following fandoms: Farscape, Marvel Cinematic Universe, Speed and The West Wing.
Farscape
A Day in the Life: Tanaqui (Pilot, Moya, the passengers/crew, post 2.13)
Lovely, lovely, lovely. I'm so glad I read this - over the years I’ve largely avoided Farscape fic. It’s emotive but grounded (except for the whole flying-through-space thing). I love the specificity of where they’re all at, very much seen through a Pilot and Moya-centric lens. It’s full of well-thought-out detail about the sheer complexity involved in a Leviathan’s flight, but never without forgetting the beauty.
MCU
With A Little Help From My Friends: lucdarling (Darcy & ensemble)
Different take on Darcy, non-superpowered civilian, working with the Avengers, but as we all know, she's a hero in her own way. (Maybe not for you if you're allergic to ephithets, though.)
Sentimental Value: Hollimichelle (gen, post Guardians of the Galaxy)
Peter reunites with his family with a little help from Gamora…and Thor. The tone is just right (the character voices!) with exactly enough of an emotional gutpunch.
Speed
Sinking In: avocadomoon (Annie/Jack, post movie, I’d rate it a teen for some of the themes, It’s domestic fic, but not entirely fluff)
What a satisfying read! I loved how the ghost of the beginning of their relationship mostly disappeared because of the reality of their ongoing relationship and getting to know each other.
The West Wing
The Politics of Love: Speranza (Josh/Donna, Sam, early seasons)
This is delightful. The tone and the way it plays out are pitch perfect.
