Oh yeah, I've always thought of him as a character actor and in a complimetary way. I had a quick look at imdb, and prior to his apperance in this, I'd seen him in O Brother, Where Art Thou (and he keeps popping up in interesting things). I must have known he was in Roseanne, which was never that much of a hit in the UK, but from what I've seen him in, I've alwaus assocaiated him with drama as much as comedy. Having watched the first two eps of season 5 where he gets more to do, he backs up that impression as a very credible senior politician.
