Back to form.
I found, as ever, how they were responding to how people use technology right now fascinating. George Senior was fun as the Judge of the week. Ooh, I wonder if he’s angling for the nomination from Peter, because the Governor and Eli are on the way to having a (Women) Nominee Problem. I spent half the time berating Jackie and half the time berating Eli, but enjoying their clash enormously.
Meanwhile, the continuity announcer spoiled me for Jason O’Mara, so I spent an ad break hoping he’d be playing an Irish character, otherwise what is the point of casting him. He was, and every time his character appeared I called Will an idiot for hiring him. Definitely with Diane on this.
I was also amused at ‘LG’ not sticking. I hope that’s a running gag.
At least Damian knew to acknowledge Kalinda’s Kalindaness somewhat.
The strategic implications of the case WRT Chum-Hum in the Lockhart Gardner Vs Florrick Agos battle were interesting, as was seeing Will and Diane come to their office. Big moment, that.
I also wanted to talk about secretaries, because they haven’t quite got the life they did in The West Wing – although Eli yelling for Nora had echoes, but they played slightly more prominent roles in this episode with the one who wouldn’t let Damian flirt with her and the one who couldn’t stop the visitors. Like the show, I haven’t paid them too much attention. I still maintain it would be fascinating to have a ‘lower decks’ type of episode.
Anyway, Florrick Agos need a security guard.
Next week is the hundredth episode. I’m unspoiled for that and, so far, unspoiled for everything that’s aired (we're six episodes behind). I fear that it’s either going to be American fans thinking two weeks is long enough not to bother with spoiler warnings or something outside of fandom that’ll spoil me for whatever happened. My brain is playing all kinds of speculative games.
