Brooklyn Nine-Nine 1.13 The Bet

Oh, Jake/Amy, you adorable little kittens! I was already on board with the ship before, but now I want him to grow up a little and then yes they should totally get together! In the meantime, I’ll be reading fic.

I couldn’t help but laugh at Jake’s elaborate celebration, that more so than some of the details of the date he’d set up. But her reaction when she’d realised Jake had refused the Captain’s offer of relief was just so.

I’m not sure if Holt’s ineptitude around Terry’s wife (thingy from Alias! I got very excited when I saw her face) was entirely IC. I thought he most got social cues, just chose to ignore them.

Having Charles be the one who dropped ‘truth bombs’ made a change, although telling Rose he didn’t recognise her when he jumped, which made him a good little heroic team member, was entirely ruined by the creepiness that came next. Ugh, stop making Rosa feel like that.

Revenge 3.15 Struggle

While I did think the worst of Victoria and so was mildly surprised that she and Nolan had conspired to get Patrick away – the best thing for him? Well, I don’t know if art therapy will be enough to help with all that he’s done and seen - I also feel like they’ve veered away from the suggestion that he was well shady before the Hamptons, or they’re pinning it all on his terrible birth father and lack of love in his upbringing. Victoria still deserves her fair share of blame too, and she’s totally going to try to get Stevie off the wagon again, at least.

Or Emily might. I can believe that, but I never thought for a second she was going to kill the Greysons, so there was no tension there. And as I’d assumed that her attacking the infinity symbol meant that she was really angry with her father, the near drowning by Aiden that followed was a waste of time.

And after giving the Emily/Aiden shippers so much, the show had to have an Emily-Jack reconciliation, although it made sense (has Nolan ever talked about his mother?) for him to turn to her on this, and this was a flashback-heavy episode so it made sense to refer to the old connection. Poor wee!Amanda with her vulnerable face.

Other than that, I tried to figure out where I’ve seen the private eye before and wondered if even the actress remembers where Charlotte lives (she was being so definite about Conrad not calling the tastefully appointed South Fork home, but does she actually live at the Greysons’ any more? Frankly, though, who cares?)

And yet, I cooed at Nolan giving Emily a new infinity box. Stupid show, stupid self.
