Just realised that The Mindy Project is literally airing live now. So I'm going to post my thoughts about the last two episodes, which I caught up on last night right now.
2.5 Weiner Night
Whoa, lots of peple were back for this ep – the midwife (wearing his magnificent coat), the lawyer and kind-of Christina – as Mindy whatevered over a guy she has, indeed, nothing in common with. (Katy Perry being her favourite singer is legitimately reason enough to walk away.)
Danny’s perturbation of mind about Christina’s exhibition was pretty amusing.
I really don’t feel like the new doc adds much. Can he go now?
Some funny bits towards the end, more often than not, throwaway gags. But the show was so busy emphasising that we should be interested in the lawyer for Mindy and obviously Mindy/Danny that the tag with the return of Whatever was pointless. A lot of this was borderline not my cup of tea. The first season was better than this, no?
2.6 Bro Club for Dudes
I’d take sides on the various things thrown up in the clash of Peter (men) and Mindy (women) or at least keep score, but it’s so gender essentialist and they’re both being self-involved idiots...
(And if you’re going to go there I’m going to point out how little the supporting women get on this show. Remember all those friends Mindy had? Surely not all the actresses have been cast in other shows.)
Meanwhile Jesse is yet another guy who dumps Mindy because of Danny, pretty much.
