The Mindy Project 2.13

Mostly a messy episode. By the way, earler this week I read a season 1 fic and was reminded of that long-ago time when Mindy had female friends and didn’t just hang out with people (I say ‘people’ but they’re mainly men) from work.

In this episode, she hung out a bit with Casey, and I’ll be glad if we never see that character again. So inconsistently written. And, to prove that I’m not so hardcore Mindy/Danny that I can’t like any other guy, I will say that I did feel for Cliff. And his rationale for dumping her was true to the character we’ve come to know, even if he’s been slightly underwritten. But yeah, clearly the man was babbling about his apartment issues to Mindy without thinking them through, however he was jealous of Casey. Still, it was trust issues not Mindy’s crazy sitcom behaviour, although the lying was partly sitcom crazy, that did for them. Sure, he’s had his sleazy and sitcom rationale moments, but I’ve grown to like him more than I thought I would when he was first introduced.

I fear we’re going to have some kind of Mindy/New Doctor shenanigans. (The actor playing Jeremy might want to be concerned that he’s not even no. 3 after Danny and Morgan these days.)

The Danny-Morgan scenes were fun (not just inherently, but because there was no Casey or celeb appearances). Merely because of the height disparity they should hang out more. It was obvious that the reluctant Danny was going to meet his father. He sounded well cast.
