2.18 Girl Crush
Post break-up awkwardness! I thought it was handled well, and really sympathetically towards Mindy.
Peter (oh, FINE, I give up on calling him New Doctor) bucked the trend by having a female relative. And hey, it was refreshing to see Mindy around (so many) other women, even if I’d wondered long before it was confirmed that they wanted her ‘for diversity’. Nice to see her turn them down for conscience’s sake. Nice to see her interacting a wee bit with the women of the office.
Not that funny, but I was sick when watching it.
2.19 Think like a Peter
Yes, Danny, your belief that you could just go back to being best friends after crossing so many lines was stupid.
We haven’t seen Mindy on the floor in a while, although I thought it was brave/stupid to do it in an all white outfit. Ditto wearing it. (The blue and white dress was lovely.)
Whoa to Tamra/Morgan. It would have been nice to see how she got from where she was to this. Although it didn’t seem like it would be too much of a stretch, given her attitude, and they might even work as a couple, even if they’re really nothing more than a challenge to Danny’s issues.
But I didn’t like this episode as much as the last. Mindy reverted to crazy...to teach Peter a lesson about his behaviour? Lots of juxtaposition with Danny to get him to face the consequences of his actions, and a bit of guest star at the expense of character?
Eh.
