Fanvids in the following fandoms: The Addams Family movies; The Curse of the Golden Flower; Edge of Tomorrow; The Fall (2006); Gravity; LOTR (behind the scenes DVD extras) RPF; Lost in Translation; Maleficent; Only Lovers Left Alive; Ratatouille; Snow White and the Huntsman; Take Shelter and Twister
The Addams Family movies
(Never Fully Dressed) Without a Smile: cosmic_llin
WEDNESDAY! This made me cackle.
The Curse of the Golden Flower
Hue: Aris Merqoni
This vidlet builds tension masterfully (and the film is utterly sumptuous).
Edge of Tomorrow
The Spaces in Between: Cara Marie (Rita-focused, canon-typical violence)
Really intense vid (I think you need to have seen the source to get it, but people who hadn’t commented positively).
The Fall (2006)
To Build a Home: turquoisetumult
Looking at Alexandra and Roy's shared imaginary world and what it means to them, it has beautiful material to deal with, but is edited with sympathy for the music.
Gravity
All that remains: Joyo
Wondrous vid. (Good choice of music given the fandom and sympathetic vidding to it.)
LOTR (behind the scenes DVD extras) RPF
Long Live: gwenfrankenstien
This made me a little sniffly and very, very happy. Great clip selection to celebrate the whole endeavour throughout.
Lost in Translation
Felt: kass
I really like how this is Charlotte’s POV of the themes and relationship at the heart of the film (which I was reminded I need to rewatch asap).
Maleficent
Beth yw’r haf i mi: cosmic-llin
Loved the parallels here between Maleficent and Aurora that help to explain the meaningless of summer without the Beastie.
Only Lovers Left Alive
Feather Moon: purplefringe (Eve/Adam)
I love the structure of this mood piece.
Ratatouille
The Walker: rhobaoat
Really kinetic, simpatico and fun vid about Remy’s journey.
SWATH
A Hazy Shade of Winter: kuwdora
It's witty - the juxtapositions! - but heartfelt - the juxtapositions! Taken all together, it rocks.
Take Shelter
Things that scare me: cherryrice
Evocative vid that brings together Curtis’s visions and his idea of his role in society and the building pressure, with an excellent choice of music.
Twister
Eye of the Storm: jacquelee
If there ever was material that could live up to the bombast of this song...but I also liked that it was so focused on Jo.
