The second ‘Swedish directors’ were mentioned, I knew roughly what to expect, except of course I didn’t. I loved that the episode was really rather sweet about Jake and Rosa’s relationship, while throwing smelly aquatic creatures at Jake. Although there really was something unhealthily close about the Swedes (the guy appeared on The Mindy Project; I don’t know the actress).
Meanwhile possibly my favourite thing was Santiago’s terrible mnemonic for Jupiter’s moons. Neil DeGrasse Tyson’s cameo suffered enormously for me because I just saw Zoolander 2 this week, and he’s one of the zillion people who cameod in that, although he was slightly less wooden in B99 than this.
Pregnancy watch (sorry, I can’t help it): they have started with using blocking objects although the dancing dress was a giveaway. Boyle’s line about impregnating Amy was surely a reference, although I don’t think they’ll go there on the show.
I snickered a lot at Boyle’s squash Beast, but also at a lot of things, especially Stephanie Beatriz’s reaction shots.
