Okay, watching Fillion play Castle playing at being Indiana Jones and the others tease him that he was cursed as a result was fun. The Scooby Doo referencing was less fun. Bonus very good guest cast (Currie Graham, Navi Rawat, Erick Avari and that guy whose name I didn’t catch). But if Castle was starting to worry about his own mortality, although asking Beckett to look out for Alexis was sweet, wouldn’t he make a move on Kate?

And we’re back in the now – or are we, if the case started 19 days after Lorelai vanished? I wonder if this episode was supposed to be aired sooner, because Rigsby, f’rex, didn’t seem to be affected by his father’s death and his being under IA investigation.
Main case wasn’t all that interesting – I figured the impoverished couple were in on it before it was revealed that it was just the lady. Having us not be in on when the team (Jane) worked it out was probably too detaching. Watching Jane be Morse and Lisbon get wound up by the PR lady was only mildly diverting (the undercurrent of Bertram’s involvement was there), but the intensity was reserved for obsessed!Jane does Lorelai-related investigation to find Red John.

Oh, this show and its highwire act. I got a bit !?!? at the actress role playing Nikki Heat with Castle - and that is when he actually mentioned the casting couch accusation planted by Beckett.
Again with some quality support - I'd like French Stewart's PI to return, and Fred 'Wall-E' Willard (although I did suspect the character partly because of the casting). I was a bit sad that one of Sabrina's aunties was thought to be age-appropriate to play him off Dancing with the Stars' first wife, and shouldn't the intern have been blonde in keeping with his preferences.
But, you know, Castle is charming and funny and between Fillion's line readings and Katic's FACES, I enjoyed it.
I had to cross post this because a post with three cuts on LJ that looks vaguely like I want it is impossible these days. AARGH.
