Brooklyn Nine-Nine 4.16 Moo Moo
An episode that tackled unexpectedly serious themes – well, certainly the racism Terry faced. Jake and Amy playing at parenting with Cagney and Lacey was always going to be funny, and however much they enjoyed it amid the terror, Charles’s enthusiasm was always going to put them off. He is The Shipper – for I do have some sympathy for some of his Jake/Amy impulses - turned up to the max without the distance of fans talking about TV characters.
There was a point where I thought the bad cop was just going to have his tires slashed, and it was good to see Jeffords and Holt hash out the appropriate response. I thought that because we care for Terry, it worked well as a way of discussing what seems like the most live issue about policing in the US from this side of the pond.
