Miranda 3.05 three little words
I don’t actually remember when I watched this episode – it was on iPlayer, anyway.
I want to say this was one of the better episodes, but I spent a lot of it cringing. Better plotted, maybe.
I liked the totally random guy who was dragged into Miranda’s dilemma and Miranda and Stevie’s issues – I hoped he would turn out to be called Jason or Howard. I loved Penny dressed up as a lamp-post. And most of the Miranda-Stevie stuff (I wonder if the disco karaoke was thought of before Flavia made Louis do that dance on Strictly?)
I didn’t find the drills hot, just worrying. Hope the end was cleared with Mrs Gary Barlow. I love Miranda and Gary’s fights, actually. I wouldn’t say I’m diehard shippy about Miranda/Gary, but I did find Mike calling her quirky patronising, and apparently they’ve been going out for a few weeks, which makes the ‘I love you’ business not ring true. (Meanwhile, I note that it is canon that Miranda and Gary were university friends). I did enjoy them running with Gary’s fears and that he got when Miranda was serious AND called her on her solipism.
But despite the laughs and the smiles, there really was a lot of cringing.
My TV has been playing up – I presume the weather was to blame, which means I’m dependant on my laptop (for TV, DVDs and radio, to a certain extent). This has been/is aggravating. Hopefully, supper and watching the new season opener of The Good Wife will improve my mood.
