POI 1.13 Root Cause
Feb. 15th, 2013 09:24 amI was spoiled by the synopsis that Zoe would be returning, so I was perhaps less involved in the beginning of the episode than I might have been - the way they played the action scenes were fun – but I was all ‘Where’s ZOEEEEEEE?’. I clocked that the person of interest had pawned his watch and wasn’t surprised that he’d lost his job and was hiding it before the boys. The involvement of the Congressman made me see how Zoe could come into the story, and I got increasingly impatient. I also kept being taken out of the moment by the fact that the FBI agent was played by the American from the Orange ads that were on at the cinema before every single film a few years ago. And okay, it’s nice that she met Finch and all, but that’s not the interaction that I want to see the most of.
However, ‘Root’ who is possibly smarter than Finch (although I love that he has a back-up plan for that) was a worthy adversary. I didn’t fall for Zoe being her because of the lack of overlapping skillset etc, but I was pleased she’s a woman. Very ruthless. I want to see more of her. Actually, I quite literally wanted to see more of her, because I was watching on Demand 5 and it ended a few seconds (I think, I hope) before it should have.
In POI, there’s only one precinct that counts in the City, isn’t there? Heh.
