The Capture ep 4
Such well-paced storytelling. I may have dubbed Alma’s people who kidnapped/rescued Shaun the rebel alliance, la la la. But the talk about Correction took me into Phillip Dick territory and The Adjustment Bureau.
Rachel was like a dog with a bone, bless, as she followed up what intel she had, let Flynn in and realised that she’d been used on the terrorism case – although I suspect her ex Guv was more used than user, if more well-informed. We met his wife and saw he has a type.
Frank really was confident, and we were given more info about the small group fighting against him and his ilk than about his ilk. It was confirmed he was working with/issuing orders to Rachel’s nemesis.
And then for the solicitor who’d turned on Shaun to be one of the rebellion!? Nice, because when we’d seen him learning about Hannah’s death, I’d just thought he was in danger, as both she and Levy had been killed. I’d even been worried about Nadiya, let alone Flynn taking A Taxi, when he was really getting an eureka moment, so lots of wrong-footing went on.
Apart from Alma’s phone and the tracker, they’re only focusing on video footage being altered, no other reasons for paranoia.
Callum Turner’s face is an elastic thing – I kept thinking ‘ooh, he looks like this sportsman’ or ‘that sportsman’ as Shaun got hunted then dragged through the blindspots of London by people he was finding it hard to trust.
I hope we’ll learn more about Hannah. Rachel was rightly chided for not investigating her and her life more. The forensics suggested she’d been killed more recently. Where? By whom? Would it be possible to find out, let alone prove it? And why? (This all seems like a lot of work to…what? Get the world they way you want it, while working in an underground lair.)
On the bit about it being tricky to get rid of pesky, bright Rachel, I wasn’t surprised her nemesis didn’t have to try hard to make her look unprofessional. But as she’s a dog with a bone and several grievances, I don’t think Rachel will stop looking into this.
I liked what they did with the subtitles!
