The Mindy Project ep 2 Hiring and Firing
Good proportion of laughs. The nurses were nicely unexpected, while the casting of guys who look vaguely like Hugh Grant continues, so it is definitely a thing. My, Dr Posho Englishman has been in the States long enough to use the word ‘pants’ when he means 'trousers'. Meanwhile, Danny and his curmudgeonliness is close to making him my favourite character, although then he goes petty, but is often matched there by Mindy (of course I am helplessly, predictably shipping them).
My Freeview box is working (I will happily ignore one or two glitchy moments, given what I went through with the last two) and so I could watch The Good Wife live.
I could watch The Good Wife live.
That's the first time this whole season.
4.11 High time Louis Canning was back, meanwhile Eli’s response to thingy being back i.e. the zombie analogy was priceless. Especially given that they brought back two Louis-supporting characters. I was confused about Alicia not knowing Simone, although initially I didn’t recognise her either, but we have seen her – we the audience. I then remembered or thought I did, that Kalinda stormed into their house. For the record, I didn’t believe in Louis’s dead friend, but his buying the debt is beautiful.
Oh Will and Diane, you two. The Trustee (I’m sorry for not learning your name although I do think of you as human) really doesn’t get it. The illogical desire to win at all costs is there, but there’s a why to it that escapes him. Most poignant bit was the exchange of looks between him and Cary, who chose his position over what seemed like friendship.
For a non judge, the empress mediator enjoyed banging that gavel. Well, I daresay most of us would, given the chance.
Pointed points were made about wealth, banks and responsibility to our fellow human beings. And Kalinda and Alicia acknowledged that they’re not there yet.
I then chose not to watch Nashville, but, because I seem to have more channels now, I channel hopped between some of the dreadfulest bits of He’s Not That Into You and Suits. It was an episode in which an XX song was played, randomly, over a montage. Oh (my part of) fandom, I see what you mean about Harvey and Donna. Banter and trust!
