Pacific Rim
still in it for the fight: tielan (Raleigh/Mako, teen, outsider characters’ POV)
I have a fondness for outside perspectives of couples, and this delivers. I really liked the analysis of media narratives, Herc and his ghosts, and then after all the scrutiny, we were reminded that even sympathetic outsiders don't know everything.
The Philadelphia Story
Three Princes (A Tribute to the Philadelphia Story): hepburned (Tracy and all her men)
This vid deftly and entertainingly uses/stretches the song to celebrate this classy, classy screwball comedy. (Reminds me, I'm probably due a rewatch).
Stardust
Sailing for Adventure: evenwithanapple (ensemble,Tristan/Yvainne)
Wonderful marriage of song and source; there is so much spirit of adventure about this film. Should leave you smiling.
Ugly Betty
The Beauty in Ugly: yahtzee (Cosmetic surgery AU, Daniel/Betty)
This geniusis a AU, where Betty, the victim of a traffic accident, walks into Dr Daniel's surgery and changes his life. Likiwise, he changes hers, but the more important transformation is his. Yeah, the very end is a touch cheesy, but it's an Ugly Betty fic and it's earned!
Zootopia
Circadian Syncopation: interabang (missing scenes, pre Nick/Judy)
Delighted this fic exists, in its tropey goodness, but more importantly, there's the dynamic I loved from the film. Nick's POV is a great insight to the trust issues and vulnerabilities that lie underneath. The banter, name-calling and allusions are fun.
