[personal profile] shallowness
In the first VT, we learned that they’d had to sew Amber’s glittery cap on and sad Balvinder was preparing for the dance-off. Claudia wore navy, Tess white. In the second VT, Craig scolded Motsi for her largesse with the 10 paddle. Vicky and Kai and Amber and Nikita were grouped top, the 35s and 34s were in the ‘middle’, and the bottom three, who’d got 30s and 29, made up the third group. Motsi had changed from black to a still subdued hue.

In the first batch were Amber and Nikita and Balvinder and Julian and nearly everyone in the top two groupings. Somewhat unfairly, Lewis and Katya were left waiting with the bottom three.

We learned about Karen’s belief that Linda Hop was a person, and that Alexis has come to love salt and vinegar snacks, while George declined Claudia’s offer to cut his hair.

Very nice Children in Need VT.

The high point of the judges’ chat was either Anton and Shirley demonstrating one of the many lifts Nikita made Amber do, while Motsi and Claudia cowered on Craig’s side of the sofa, or some Dave Arch cam action to appreciate his many talents.

Emotive Remembrance group dance (again clearly filmed previously as Amy was part of it.) Having a brass band worked better than I expected. The moment where everyone danced solo was particularly powerful, but all the partner swapping (bar Aljaz and Lauren, the main couple) slightly undercut the lyrics, but nice to have them dancing ballroom.

Batch 2, and of course, none of these couples had been in the dance off before. Straight to red lights for Harry and Karen and La Voix and Aljiaz. Fair. La Voix tried to be funny, Craig gave useful and supportive advice.

The safe couples joined Claudian and the others in the Clauditorium, where we learned of Johannes’ fear of English woods, and Lewis’s love of Cuban heels and ballroom, although they sadly don’t go together.

James Morrison sang backed by a lot of golden lights. I was more interested in Neil and Jowita doing a rumba with lifts and some jive moves.

Dance off: I spotted a heel toe from La Voix and mainly looked at the feet and realised I was none the wiser beyond that. I thought Harry managed to dance with the requisite joy even under that pressure, and thought he was maybe better this time around. I couldn’t call it, but all the judges plumped for La Voix, who’d had a lower score on the live show. (Personally, I liked Harry more.) Oh well, I daresay the samba and foxtrot are both tough dances when you’re not one of the strongest dancers left at this point. Harry gave a great speech and was full of positivity for his daughter’s sake.
