shallowness: HP films' Minerva reads the Daily Prophet (Minerva reads)
[personal profile] shallowness
I only caught the last three dances of Strictly, so I didn't feel qualified to vote and will have to catch up on the rest of it before writing any more about it.

Then there was Atlantis, 1.6 The Song of the Sirens, which started off with shirtlessness. Sadly it was Hercules, rather than Jason. This was later remdied. However, the grand shirtless!Jason plan failed to include the fact that this show follows a show with shirtless pro dancers.

Still, Donnelly is charming, even if Jason is an idiot, or was this episode. When the Oracle's warning had been pretty clear, to be so binary and think that his only two options were the ones Circe had laid out was really frustrating. That's mainly addressed at the scriptwriter(s).

Thank goodness this seems to be the end of Hercules/Medusa. Although given that he and Ariadne are stuck at clueless boy/girl, Jason advising Hercules romantically is a bit rich.

I thought the music for the sirens' song was really effective, but I spent quite a lot of time calling out 'Green Screen' because it was blatant at tims.

I thought the pig should have been fatter.

Yay for Korianna (I went to the bother of checking up her name!) turning up again. I wish she could become a regular and that this show could care enough about women for her and Medusa to become proper friends. Medusa talking about her loneliness in Atlantis was rather touching. We only see her in the context of Jason's gang, and she doesn't feel a part of it, clearly.

I was amused by how much she got into the wrestling.

I liked the actress playing Circe.

So, stupid Jason is now in trouble deep and we have a through-line for the end of the series. They can't write off Pasiphae, though, can they?

I enjoyed this episode a little more than the last.

I then watched the programme about the National theatre until 'The Rain in Spain'. At that point, it was Downton Abbey 3, Sherlock 2 (I think) and all the live performances were of a high quality, though I thought the music in the musical numbers too loud. Judi Dench was amazing and Simon Russell Beale's voice also. Maybe it is time for a new production of Pravda.
